Green Office Building Closer to Completion
The Molasky Group of Cos. recently topped out a $75 million, 17-story Class A downtown office tower at the northeast corner of Grand Central and City Parkway. The 770,000-square-foot building and parking garage are expected to finish construction in 2007.
The building is considered to be a green building in terms of being more energy efficient and environmentally-friendly. The developers are striving for “silver certification,” the third highest of four Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification levels. The building is expected to use less water and electricity than traditional offices and use more efficient heating and cooling systems. The Southern Nevada Water Authority has signed a $63.3 million, 20-year lease to occupy the building.
